More About Steve Paine
Steve Paine, OMD, is an acupuncturist licensed in Connecticut and Hawaii, a diplomat of the (US) National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists, a Certified Disability Evaluator and a diplomat of the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics. He received his Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree from the Postgraduate Institute of Oriental Medicine located in Hong Kong in 1989. He competed the China Ministry of Public Health Advanced Acupuncture Training Program at the Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing, China. He is a graduate of Union College, Schenectady, New York. Dr. Paine is a past President of the Hawaii Acupuncture Association and since 2010 has served as President of the National Guild of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, OPEIU Guild 62 of the AFL-CIO.
Dr. Paine is an appointed member of the State of Connecticut Worker’s Compensation Medical Advisory Panel, which provides expert advice on appropriate medical care and treatment protocols.
Dr. Paine’s practice over the last 30 years has included the treatment of post-concussion syndrome care for adults and adolescent athletes. Having seen the devasting effects of concussion on scores of young victims, he is an advocate of preventive care and of the fiduciary duty of coaches and school districts to protect the lives and cognitive function of children in their care.
